The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) has developed this program especially for older drivers. Taking this class will help you improve your driving skills, be updated on traffic laws, and develop safe defensive driving techniques. Minnesota state law requires all insurance companies give at least a 10% premium to anyone 55 years or older who has completed an accident prevention course. Please note that first time participants must take an 8-hour course. After taking the first course, participants may take the 4-hour refresher course every three years thereafter. Pre-registration is required and you must bring your current driver's license and AARP card (if you are a member) to class. Course fee includes AARP materials as well as an administrative/host charge.
